Waterford
Ireland's oldest city is Waterford, a seaport in the southeast of the island. Vikings established it in 914 AD, and portions of its original walled core still exist. The Waterford Museum of Treasures exhibits regional artifacts inside Reginald's Tower, a fortress built around 1003 AD. Here, in 1783, the famous glass maker Waterford Crystal got its start. Currently, factory visits are available at the company's location close to the historic neighborhood.
