Northern Spain's industrial port city of Bilbao is encircled by lush mountains. It has a city full of skyscrapers and serves as the de facto capital of Basque Country. It is renowned for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which was created by Frank Gehry and opened in 1997 and ignited a revival.
